I am so proud to be called friend by the amazing woman who wrote this book. I know the many hours of reflection and work that went into it. Not to mention the practical experience she had to live through to learn all she has. It is all to our benefit that she has decided to share her insight with us. As one review that I read on Amazon said, "wish I would have had this book when I was raising my children". Anything that can be this simply put and so profound all at the same time has to be an all time winner for us all.
You know how they always say, "if children only came with instruction manuals"? Well this book is one such book that will give you practical tools, ideas, and personal experience in addressing the spiritual side of instructing our children. It is done is such a simple, easy, laid back manner that anyone can do it no matter what your time constraints are. Even the length of time you need to spend in reading the whole book is easily do able. And as the book says, what could be more important to our future world than having children that can handle the challenges ahead and guide us into the next level of loving/joyful existence?
I know I have used the words practical, simple, and easy but do not be misled that this could be the Cliff notes on helping our children search and get answers to their spiritual side of life. It is a profound and deeply thought out work on behalf of Valerie Dass. Thank you for sharing your insights, experiences, and expertise in dealing with this very important part of our children's growth that will affect all the years ahead of them.

My first thought was, "If only I had read this when my kids were young!!" But it's never too late to create that "God spot". One of the greatest gifts we could ever give our children is to go within and seek God. That's exactly what the author lays out for us....creating a space....or as she puts it, a "God spot", for our children to reflect, pray, meditate.
Valerie goes into the how and why a sacred space would enrich our childrens' lives...encouraging spiritual developement and strength from within. In a world where so much emphasis is put on the external, material value of "things" to bring us comfort when truly the ONLY peace comes from knowing God. And the God spot is just the concept many of us need to encourage this.
Peaceful, beautiful children will create a peaceful, beautiful world. This book offers suggestions and guidelines to encourage our children to BE just that!!
